“If
there is a high, hard wall and an egg that breaks against it, no matter how
right the wall and how wrong the egg, I will stand on the side of the egg.”
Haruki Murakami when
accepting Jerusalem Prize in speech “Of Walls and Eggs”, 2009.
To protect the minority must first safeguard its
right to speak out. When the wall is an atrocious force upon all humans, we
must take side and proclaim:
‘Je suis Charlie’.
