The unexpected rejection of a free broadcasting license to HKTV Net by the Hong Kong SAR government is no ordinary sham. The storyline is, under a process of gradual transformation, the general public is turning into a pack of sheep in front of the telly. People simply don’t see themselves.

As always, the audiences in Hong Kong are only fed with melodramas, game shows and food programmes. No nutrients for the brain are meted out. It was high time to shake the couch, unplug the TV and wise up.
